How do I clean my plancha?
We strongly recommend that you clean your plancha after each use. Proper maintenance of your plancha will ensure its longevity over time.
- Make sure your griddle is switched off, but is still hot enough without burning.
- Pour warm water over the surface, and use a wooden spatula or other suitable utensil. Remove the larger cooking residues and push them into the grease trap. Avoid using water that is too cold, as this will crack the plancha’s enamel.
- Once this initial cleaning is complete, you can use our special plancha cleaner or silver stone to remove any remaining grease.
- Rub with a non-abrasive sponge or cloth.
- Rinse the surface of your plancha with water.
- Your griddle is clean.
How does my griddle’s thermostat work?
When you switch on your electric plancha, you choose a power level from 1 to 5.
The role of the thermostat is to maintain the plancha at the right temperature.
For example, if you have selected power 4, the plancha will heat up to the corresponding temperature. At this point, the thermostat switches off the resistance and switches it on again when the temperature starts to drop, and so on to maintain the required temperature.
The flames on my barbecue/plancha are yellow
-
The flames of a gas barbecue/plancha should be blue in normal operation. If the flames are yellow, there’s a problem with the regulator. Fortunately, this is easy to check and repair:
- Turn off the burners.
- Close the gas cylinder, then disconnect the regulator from the cylinder.
- You can now reconnect the regulator to the gas cylinder.
- Open the cylinder and check the regulator for gas leaks.
- Then relight the burners and check the flame color.
-
If the problem persists, there must be a problem with the regulator.
-
If the regulator has been changed, please open a service request if your product meets the conditions.
